As we present our Annual Report for 2024 / 2025, it’s essential for us to highlight both the challenges we’ve faced this year and the steps we have taken to position ourselves for future success. Our commitment to leading Community Vision in providing quality services in aged care, Veterans support, disability support, nursing services and family day care will remain our core focus.
Reflecting on a Year of Resilience
I am pleased to present Community Vision Australia’s annual report for this year. Our journey has been one of resilience, commitment, and innovative spirit as we navigated the ongoing aged care reforms and their associated challenges. This year has seen many changes within the industry, creating an environment of uncertainty for aged care providers, including delays with the IHACPA pricing, funding instability, and increasing business costs.
These challenges required us to continue streamlining operations and reducing overheads, ensuring we could maintain our high-quality services without compromising on our core focus, placing our customers at the center of everything we do. Despite these hurdles, I am proud to report that we have ended the year on a positive note, fuelled by the hard work and commitment to excellence shown by all of our employees.
Community Support and Achievements
Our achievements this year have been strengthened by the support of our community and partners. We’re grateful for the strong local government support shown for Community Vision. Jessica Stojkovski MLA pledged $27,000 to help create a new sensory room, set for completion next year. Emily Hamilton MLA committed $65,000 towards a much-needed new bus, while Lotterywest provided remarkable support for upgrades at Woodvale, resulting in outstanding feedback from the community.
We also received exceptional audit results for Family Day Care, confirming the high standards of education maintained by our educators. The dedication of our team was further recognised with increased nominations for our coordinators and educators. Notably, our Educational Team Leader was honoured as a finalist, proudly representing us in Sydney.
Our inclusion and intergenerational programs at Woodvale have continued to thrive, enriching the lives of both seniors and Family Day Care children. The Friday night kinship groups also remain a highlight, fostering connection and enjoyment for young individuals living with disabilities within the local community.
Looking Ahead
We remain flexible and responsive to government reviews, particularly the NDIS, as it transitions towards the Thriving Kids program, which focuses on early intervention for children with mild to moderate autism and developmental delays.
Through collaborations with organisations such as Palliative Care WA, physiotherapy services, and local education supports, we have strengthened our capacity to deliver comprehensive care.
As we move into next year, we acknowledge the continuing uncertainty and remain steadfast in our dedication to our customers and employees, always aligned with our purpose and values.
